Celebrating the layered history of man’s relationship with nature.

The founders of Planting Fields were lovers of nature, and the estate was designed to facilitate the family’s regular interactions with the outdoors. As part of the Foundation’s contemporary arts program, Mark Dion and David Brooks were commissioned to create site specific works that complimented and commented on the history and functionality of the site. Rheanna developed a highly interactive and dialogic tour of the exhibition which wove together the dynamic history of the estate, and functions of the mansion then and now, and the meanings and commentary of the artists. The Great Bird Blind Debate tour at Planting Fields Foundation is available to the public through the end of 2021.
